Make the Leap to Affiliate Marketing Success

If you are going to become a successful affiliate on the
Internet, you need 3 "intangibles." These are things that
must come from WITHIN you.

First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why must you make affiliate marketing work? What is driving
you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore
and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore
and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also
absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control
my life and finances through a little box that I could carry
with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's
time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and
my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out
on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that
succeeding in this business would provide for me. I found my
why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to make
money with affiliate programs or make your living on the
Internet, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter
of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making
great money online. If they could do it, I could too. It
would just be a matter of figuring out what those people
were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people
(millions of them) are making money online with affiliate
programs. Just get online and do some research and you'll
find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE
making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local
bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of
this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make
money online with affiliate programs.

I've always said that "affiliate marketing" is the job of
the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a
potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the
best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill
out their affiliate application and start work immediately.
Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making
money with affiliate programs or making your living on the
Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or
will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is
the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy
you MUST adopt to succeed with affiliate marketing.

That's backwards for most people who like to aim before
they fire. The fact is the Internet is a moving target...
The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop
analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn
from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly
understand it.

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to
start an affiliate marketing business. You simply have to
start one. This is what I call "Making the Leap."

The good news is that the cost of failure on the Internet is
very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to
evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up
a business. It's almost always necessary to invest
thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the
ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a

Is It Possible To Build A Successful Online Home Business?

I'm guessing that at one time or another everyone who starts an online home business has asked themselves, "Is this really worth all the effort, time and money?" or "Can I really make money online?" or something very similar.

When I first started my online home business I spent hundreds of dollars and countless hours for many months before I ever earned a single cent. I worked very hard for many hours per week placing ads, participating in discussions, asking questions, building my website, doing link exchanges, submitting to directories, reading ebooks, etc... All for nothing in return. But, even though it seemed like nothing was happening that whole time, I was actually building my business.

Now I have had my online home business for over four years. I make anywhere from $7000 to $10,000 in any given month and work entirely from the comfort of my home computer. Was all the hard work in the beginning with no return worth it? You bet your butt it was!

In this article I will give you some advice on how to start and succeed in your online home business by avoiding common mistakes...

First of all, I want to tell you what an online home business really is. Most of what you will do is marketing and selling. It doesn't matter if you are involved in a business opportunity, an affiliate marketer, offering a service, network marketing, create your own product, or just about any of the other ways to run an online home business. The fact is you need to to find buying customers and to do that you will need to market and sell. I'm not going to lie to you; it's not as easy as it sounds. However, it can be done and you can do it!

Here are some tips for how to be successful in finding potential customers and building a successful online home business:

1. Get Organized.

Running an online home business requires a large amount of discipline. You probably didn't want to hear that but it's true and the sooner you accept it, the better off you will be. Discipline means having your online business schedule and sticking to it. A great way to stay organized is to have a "to do" list each day and plan the next day before you go to bed. Most importantly, get your list done.

2. Find Out Who Your Market Is.

Why is it so important to know who your customers are? Because only then can you figure out where to find them and how to sell to them. Close your eyes and imagine who would be interested in your business. Is it mostly men or women? What age group? What kind of income do they have? What types of activities are they interested in? Write down the general profile of your target customer and do some online research to find what web sites these types of people visit, what newsgroups they participate in, what ezines they are reading, what they are buying, etc... So you'll know where to place your ads in order to get the highest response of targeted, interested customers.

3. Work, Work, Work

If you think having your own online home business means you won't have to work, think again! Most likely you will have to work harder, especially for the first couple years. It is not possible to earn a full time income online unless you work your butt off. Home businesses require a lot of self-motivation, self-discipline, and hard work. Your success depends very highly on your willingness to put in lots of time and effort. You have no boss or co-workers to make sure you are getting work done. You have to rely on yourself for motivation to get your work done, and that includes the things you don't really enjoy doing.

4. Keep Learning

Things change fast online so if you want to be successful you need to continue to learn and keep up with the times. You should always seek more knowledge in every part of your life and that is especially true in the online business world. There are tons of great resources on many websites to help you keep learning. With a little research each week, you can get a lot of useful information to keep current on the internet marketing trends. The more online home business knowledge you have, the more likely you are to succeed.

Three Tips For Top Search Engine Rankings

Everyone with a website knows that ranking high in the major search engines is the absolute best way to get tremendous amounts of free website traffic in the long term. This means that almost every website owner is trying to get top search engine rankings and there is a huge amount of competition for these high ranking spots. You need to use every SEO tip to your advantage if you want to beat out your competitors. This article is going to give you three strategies that will greatly help you in your quest for top search engine rankings.

1. Inbound links are vital to your search engine rankings. This is especially true with Google! Search engines look at every inbound link pointing to your site as a vote. Just like any election, the more votes your site has, the higher it will rank.

It's extremely important to maximize the number of inbound links pointing to your website. Find quality websites related to yours and ask them if they will exchange links with you. This means that you put a link to them on your site and they put a link to you on their site. This type of partnership is mutually beneficial. Many sites will agree to this and many will not. Don't just link to anyone though. Be sure they are quality sites and relevant to yours. Linking to just any old site can actually lower your ranking!

Another amazing way to get inbound links is by writing and submitting articles. There are hundreds of article directories and other websites that will accept articles. Again, only write quality articles that sites will want to publish and people will want to read otherwise you will be wasting your time.

2. Keyword selection is crucial. The keywords you choose to optimize your site with are extremely important. The best keywords are those that bring traffic, which is targeted to your niche and already looking for what you sell. Do keyword research that will help you in selecting the optimum keywords for your site Once you have a list of the keywords tailored to what you offer, place them strategically throughout your site:

* Use keywords in page titles.
* Place them at the top and bottom of the page.
* Disperse keywords throughout your content.

Don't overdo it! Placing too many keywords throughout your page can be detrimental. Search engines consider too many keywords to be spam. This can lower your search engine rankings. Use keywords in appropriate intervals. If it doesn't flow well when you read it then you have overdone it. This will keep you out of trouble and give you maximum benefit.

3. Feature quality, relevant content and update it frequently. This is huge! The search engines want to display sites that are well put together and offer valuable information. By creating pages that are loaded with quality content you will attract higher search engine rankings.

Another benefit of having great content is that your site will become more popular among visitors. Many people will come back often and even start recommending your site to their friends. Repeat visitors and word of mouth are some of the best traffic to have. Site owners may also voluntarily link to your site just because it offers great content for their visitors as well. Remember quality over quantity. Take your time and write your content carefully. Over time it will pay you back tremendously.

By utilizing the three tips above you will be on the fast track for top search engine rankings. Continue to add quality content and inbound links to your site and it will be at the top of the search engines before you know it.
