Do You Have an Internet Home Business or a Work at Home Job?

If you make money online, here's a question for you to ponder for a while...

Do you have your own internet home business or do you have a work at home job?

Right now you are probably thinking that you definitely have your own internet home business because you work for yourself on your home computer.

But are you correct in thinking that?

There are quite a few very big differences between an internet home business and a work at home job and the differences are pretty obvious when you take time to really look at how you are making money online. Let’s look at each side and show them exactly how they are...

It mainly boils down to how you make money online that determines whether it's a business or a job.

You have your own online business if...

* You make money online from selling products. These can be your own products that you created or affiliate products.
* You make money online from selling websites or blogs that you have created.
* You make money online from selling adverting space on your websites or blogs.
* You make money online from selling articles or content that you have written yourself.

There are some other ways you can make money that would constitute you having your own online business but the ones listed above are the main methods. Basically if you earn your living on the internet from your own websites or blogs, or by selling something that is created by you then you have your own online business.

You have an online job if...

* You get paid by someone else to produce something for them for a specified amount of money.
* You get paid by someone else for writing articles, blog posts, advertisements, sales copy or other content for them.
* You get paid by someone else for creating and designing websites for them.
* You get paid by someone else for taking surveys, reading emails, posting in forums, or performing another task online for them.

There are other ways you can make money that would mean you work an online job but the ones listed above are some of the most common. Basically you work an online job if you get paid by someone else to do something for them.

Do you see the difference?

It all boils down to whether or not you make money from the sale of products or services. If you do then you have an internet business. And if you are getting paid by someone else for a service you provide, you have an online job.

When you have your own online business you do things that benefit yourself. You build your own websites and do your own marketing and advertising, and you make money from your customers. You are in control of how much work you put in and how much money you can potentially make. If you do something like write your own ebook and build a website with a sales letter to sell it, then you have created your own product. You will then market it using various internet marketing techniques and hopefully a lot of people will buy it. You don’t have to re-write it for each new customer and you will keep making money from that product as long as it keeps selling.

When you have an online job, you must work the hours needed in order to complete the task you are getting paid by someone else to do. You will do the work and then give it to your "boss" so they can use it for whatever they needed and pay you for it. The work is no longer yours and you no longer make money from it. You have to do another new job to keep making money.

If you want to really create financial freedom for yourself online you must have your own internet home business. You will not get rich doing a work at home job because you will always have to keep working and completing tasks to get paid by someone else. You can only work so many hours in a day and you can only get paid so much for your work. You have a lot more leverage and options with an online business.

Now is the time for you to sit back and really look at how you make money online. Do you have your own online business or do you have an online job? There's nothing wrong with doing online work for someone else and getting paid for it. However, if you are worried about your future or want to create financial freedom for you and your family, you really need to get started on your online business immediately!

Interesting post - there are undoubtedly those people out there who now have something to think about. Good job of alerting them to the fact that there IS a difference between the two!
