A Great Way to Increase Your Traffic, Backlinks, Rankings and Profits!

Every blogger and/or website owner is always trying to increase their traffic and make more money. One of the best ways to do this is to get more backlinks and improve your search engine rankings. I am about to tell you a great way to increase your website traffic, get more backlinks, and raise your search engine rankings, which will result in you making more money!

There are plenty of blog contests going on at any given time. You know, the ones where you do a certain task such subscribing to their feed, blogging about their site, linking to a certain blog post, or something else along those lines and you get a certain amount of entries to the contest for doing each task.

Typically the prize for winning the contest is money or a free product, but it can be any number of things. The winner is picked randomly at the end of a specified time and is given the prize.

Often times the bloggers who hold these contests will ask for sponsors to donate money and prizes to the contest and it can really end up being a big deal with hundreds of entries and a lot of great prizes. The sponsors will usually get at least one link back to their site/blog and often times it's more than one link.

I'm sure by now you have figured out where I am going with this. Yep, you guessed it; I am going to tell you that sponsoring some of these contests is a great way to increase your traffic, backlinks, rankings, and ultimately your profits!

You can usually donate just about anything you want as a sponsor of the contest. If you have a product that you have created you can offer it for free to the winner, you can donate some money to the contest, you can offer to give a free review on your blog, a free ad spot on your site for a month, or just about anything else of value that you have to offer.

I am currently a sponsor of a contest on a very popular make money online blog. It is consistently ranked in the top 5 on Google for "Make Money Online" (usually #1) and it's also ranked highly for many other keyword phrases in the make money online niche. All I did was donate $25 to the contest, which I will send to the winner as soon as I am told to do so. It was that simple!

So far I have gotten at least two permanent backlinks from this blog and both were keyword anchored. This will certainly help to increase my search engine rankings and long term traffic. I have also been sent a few hundred direct visitors from the links so far. All this for a measly $25 donation. And if you don't have any extra money that you can give then you can always do one of the other free options I mentioned above to become a contest sponsor.

Sponsoring contests is also a good way to make some great new online business friends and contacts as well as get more recognition for your website/blog. You are a winner no matter how you look at it!

Check out the popular blogs in your niche and see if any are running contests and need sponsors. Usually they will say in the contest post that they are looking for sponsors for it but even if they don't you can always offer to be a sponsor and see what they say.

This is something you can do over and over again on many different blogs or websites as long as you have something of value to offer as a contest sponsor. It won't take long for all those backlinks and traffic to add up!

The University Kid Teaches How to Make Money Online

There are only a few make money online / blogging tips / internet marketing blogs that I read on a regular basis because quite honestly most of the blogs in this industry are crap and are not worth taking the time to read because you won't learn anything. If you have been a reader here for a while then you already know that I pretty much only recommend Grizzly, Court, Vic, Monika, Terry, Josh, Matt, Garry, the Noob, and a very select few others.

However, I recently became a reader, subscriber, and all around fan of The University Kid blog. He teaches various aspects of entrepreneurship, blogging, internet marketing and making money online.

Most of his posts are very in-depth and he is not afraid to give away his money making secrets. He is one of the few bloggers out there who actually teaches how to succeed at blogging, internet marketing, making money online, and other aspects of being an entrepreneur. It's not the same old crap that you see rehashed day after day on most of the other blogs in this industry.

The biggest problem I have with The University Kid blog is that it's hard to find the older posts. There's no links to the archives (that I can find) so you have to go page-by-page through the previous posts which is not very convenient and takes way too long.

I've only been reading this blog for a couple weeks now and I have already learned quite a few new things. He has also helped me come up with some new online business ideas that I hadn't thought of before. Not bad considering I have been making money online as an internet marketer for over five years now and definitely didn't think some young university kid, who is fairly new at blogging, could teach me anything. I was wrong!

Oh and in case you are wondering, this is NOT a solicited post. I was not paid or bribed to post it, or anything else like that. I simply found a great resource for my home business tips readers and wanted to share it with you all.

Top Article Directory List - Ranked Weekly

We all know that article marketing is one of the best ways to get inbound links to your website or blog to increase your search engine rankings. It's also a great way to get direct traffic and is one of the best overall internet marketing strategies out there. To put it simply, article marketing is one of the best marketing strategies to help you make money online. And it can be done completely free!

But it can take a lot of time to submit your articles so you don't want to be wasting it by submitting to worthless article directories. In order to make the most out of your article marketing efforts you will need to know what article directories to submit to.

If you have been an internet marketer for a while and have done any article marketing then you probably already have a list of top article directories to submit to (I know I have about ten different lists). However, those lists can become outdated very quickly. And if you are new to internet marketing then you probably don't have a list of directories to submit your articles.

Whichever category you fall into doesn't really matter because Mark Mason has created a list of the internet's top article directories and the rankings are updated weekly to ensure you are always up to date with the best article directories to get the most out of your article marketing efforts.

I have already bookmarked it and will be referring to it every time I am ready to submit a new article! I suggest you do the same.

What it Takes to Be a Success When Working From Home

Today I have a great article for you to read that I found on what it really takes to be a work at home success story. I really enjoyed reading it because the author, Michelle McMahon, does a great job of explaining some of the main attributes you need to possess in order to be successful working from home. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did.

What it Takes to Be a Success When Working From Home

A lot of people set out to live the dream of working from home, but a few don't make it because they just don't have what it takes to succeed in the work from home arena. And here's why:

Discipline: Are you good when it comes to self discipline? Or are you the sort of people who just has to eat the last cookie in the jar because 'it'll get lonely' if you don't? You're going to need a certain amount of self discipline because you won't have someone standing over you making sure that you get everything completed on time.

For some people it can get to be a little too easy to let things slide when something else comes up, which is not too bad if you're quite quick at catching up, however, if you're not you could start missing deadlines, and that could cost you work in the future.

You may not have the distractions that you would have had at the office i.e. stopping to chat with fellow employees, but you will be taking on a whole new set of distractions, and these will be more personal because you're in your own home.

Set a routine and stick to it as close as you possibly can. If you do get any distractions that take you away from that routine, pencil in a time within 24 hours when you can get caught up again.

Getting yourself motivated: While on the subject of routine, this can be a great way of getting yourself motivated. It isn't always going to be easy to just start working when you don't have the old routine to go through of getting yourself ready and heading out the door to work. You need to form a new routine as a build up to you starting your new working day.

For example, you might decide that the best way to get yourself ready is to go for a short walk, have a shower, make a cup of coffee and then head through to your home office. This can become your new 'going to work' routine. It will start to have a subconscious affect on the brain that tells it you're about to start your working day. After a while this will be enough to start getting you in the mood for work.

Remember, you're going to be doing this on your own and in your own home, there won't be anyone to push you to get started. You have to do it yourself, so take the time to think of a few ways that will instantly get you motivated to work.

Persevering: It's a fact of life that things won't always run smoothly. When you're first setting up, or for that matter even when you've been telecommuting or working from home for sometime, things will happen that will leave you questioning why you thought it was a good idea to do this in the first place.

If that does happen then just remember why you decided to work from home, and move on. You're going to have lots of problems to overcome, and the quicker you find a solution, the quicker you can get back to doing something you enjoy. If you take too long to dwell on things you may never find the solution and you'll just give up.

The reason's why you're doing this should greatly out weigh any doubts you have, and most things can be solved if you ask the right people the right questions, so don't give up!

PMA: A positive mental attitude will get you a long way in business, as well as in life in general. If you enjoy the work you're doing it will show, and the more it shows the more you'll enjoy the work you're doing.

It's been said that you get a better response from someone on the telephone if you're smiling while you're talking to them. There may be many reasons for it, maybe they can tell from the way you're voice sounds? But the upshot is you're more likely to be sounding more positive, and that upbeat attitude rubs off on the person you're talking to - take note all of you doing virtual assistant or telemarketing work!

It's also thought that what you concentrate on most in life is what you end up getting most in life i.e. if you always think that something bad is going to happen to you, the chances are it will. There's nothing spooky about it, you'll just be noticing all of the things that go wrong and that will tend to distract you, causing more things to go wrong. If you have a positive mental attitude you'll concentrate on the good things in life and in turn you'll keep trying to make those good things happen, while just dismissing what goes wrong as 'well, these things happen'.

So, in conclusion, if you have the right attributes you'll have a great head start in your telecommuting career. Even if you don't yet have all of those attributes there are ways that you can compensate for them until they finally kick in. This is the start of your life working from home, so don't sabotage it before it's even got off the ground - stick with it and the reasons why you decided to do it will be justified.
