How to Find Real Internet Business Ideas

There are virtually unlimited ways to make money online but just because you earn money doesn't mean you have a real internet business. Unfortunately there are scams, outdated ideas & opportunities, and other ways to make a little money on the internet but they aren't real businesses. In this post I will take a closer look at these possibilities and tell you how to find real internet business ideas that you can implement to help you make money from home.

* Online Business Scams

You will see the word "scam" being thrown around a lot when it comes to making money online. Just about anytime someone is unhappy with a program or opportunity they have tried they are quick to call it a scam. However, this is often unfair and is usually not actually true. It implies that you have been intentionally deceived and defrauded. This does happen but it's a lot more unusual than you might think.

A couple examples of scams would be where you send money for a product that doesn't even exist, or you pay for business coaching and never get it. You can usually avoid having this happen to you by checking online forums or searching Google for reviews and information on the product or service that you are considering.

* Outdated Ideas and Opportunities

When you are browsing for ways to make money online you will undoubtedly come across some internet business ideas based on outdated methods that no longer work or don't work very well anymore. The internet changes very quickly so what works one year may not work the next year, and any online business strategy must be very flexible and keep up with the changes.

For example, a few years ago it was possible to make a lot of money with Adsense by building websites that automatically created thousands of spam pages to attract traffic from a ton of different keywords. The search engines figured this out and started dropping and banning those types of sites. They also changed their algorithms so sites like this wouldn't rank highly anymore. Google also made sites like that against the Adsense rules. Needless to say, that technique doesn't work anymore but you still see plenty of people promoting it as a great way to make money online.

Adsense is still a great business model and you certainly can make money with adsense. But you have to do it in a way that works right now, not a way that worked a few years ago or even last year. Internet marketing techniques change very fast so you need to continually learn how to make money online with adsense and keep up with the times.

* Is it a Real Internet Business?

Many people make money online working for others and think they have a real internet home business but they actually don't. This can be about any type of home job from writing website content to working in customer support. Many people are happy doing this type of work but it really cannot be called an internet business. Somebody is employing you, even if you never meet them or even talk to them other than through email or messenger.

There is a fine line between doing a work at home job for someone else and running your own online home business. One way to see the difference is to look at who sets the price. Is someone paying you a certain amount of money for doing a certain task? If so, they own the business. Or are you setting the price and accepting clients who take it, or doing things where you are in control of how you make the money and how much you can make? If so, you own the business.

* Where to Find Internet Business Ideas

One of the best ways to find home business ideas is to observe other successful businesses. Many people will offer to teach you how to make money online if you read (buy) their ebooks and products but you can often learn more from watching how they sell this service to you.

Even better, visit a site where websites are bought and sold to see the exact ways that the owners are making money from these sites. It is hard to get an idea of the money making potential of a website just by looking at it, but someone who is selling you the site will tell you exactly how much money it makes and how.

You can see profitable websites and real online business being sold at places like the Sitepoint Marketplace and Digital Point Forums. Look at the premium and established sites for sale and click through to the details. The owners will often provide detailed reports, screenshots, and PDF downloads of how they make money from the website.

You will see at these marketplaces that there are a massive variety of existing online businesses available to buy. Even if you want to build your own website instead of buying an existing one, visiting the site selling markets will give you a ton of home business ideas. Make sure you write them down so you don't forget all the details of these profitable internet businesses after the sites are sold.

I will finish by saying that it's not easy to build a real internet business that brings you in significant profits on a consistent basis. You will have to spend a lot of time learning, researching, working, and implementing new ideas and techniques. Don't expect to make money online fast and don't be fooled into thinking you can join some business opportunity then sit back and wait for the money to roll in. That's not going to happen!

Top 10 Make Money Online Myths

Even though you may want to start your own internet home business so you can make money online and create a better life for you and your family, there are several excuses you might use for not doing it. Most of your excuses are simply make money online myths that you believe are true but really they are false. In this post I will show you the top 10 make money online myths and the truth behind them.

So, here are the top ten make money online myths:

Make Money Online Myth #1: I don't have the time to build an online business.

That's not true! It doesn't take an excessive amount of time to make money online and most people really aren't as busy as they think they are anyway. You probably have a full time job and a family to tend to. So what! Most people do. If you actually prioritize your time, you will find that you can spare a couple hours every day to build your online business. Most people that do have successful online home businesses were just like you when they started out. If you want something badly enough, you will find the time to make it happen.

Make Money Online Myth #2: It costs too much to start an online business.

Again, not true! You can start an online business for very cheap and it just keeps getting cheaper all the time. The cost of web hosting, domains, web design, programs, tools, resources, information, and everything else you might need for your online business only add up to a few dollars per day. And most of it you can find for free. Stop buying that $3 cup of coffee every morning and your business expenses are paid for!

Make Money Online Myth #3: I'm not smart enough to run an internet business.

I highly doubt that! You are obviously smart enough to work a computer and you were smart enough to find this post, so you are probably smart enough to run your own online business. You don't really have to be very smart to make money online and there's plenty of information and resources available for you to learn everything you need to know.

Make Money Online Myth #4: I'm not an expert at anything.

You'd be very surprised at how many topics you actually do know a lot about if you think hard about it. Besides, you don't have to be an expert in anything to make money online. I had a degree in Criminology and was working at a prison when I decided I wanted to start my own online business. I started researching information about making money online and had my business up and running in a matter of days. It wasn't long before I had quit my day job and was making a full time income from my home business.

Make Money Online Myth #5: I don't have an information product to sell so I can't earn money online.

So what! You don't need a product in order to start an online home business. There are plenty of products on just about every topic imaginable that you can sell as an affiliate. You can promote these existing products as an affiliate marketer and earn commissions on every sale you make. There are also plenty of other ways to make money online until you decide what you really want to do for your online business. Then, you can create your own product to sell later if you want.

Make Money Online Myth #6: There's too much competition so I will never make any money.

That's a lame excuse! There are millions upon millions of people searching for all sorts of topics you can be making money from every day. Plus there are thousands of new people who are coming online all the time that could be in your target market. With an online business your market is virtually unlimited! And if you have competition for your home business idea all that really means is that it's a good idea. Trust me, you can compete!

Make Money Online Myth #7: I've tried several online business ideas and failed. Making money online is just not my thing.

Well, you could be right on this one, however you are probably wrong. Your failure most likely stems from not sticking to one business idea and building it up. If you jump from one idea or opportunity to another without ever really giving any one of them a fair shot then failure is certain. You must put in sufficient effort and time into any online business idea before you will really make money or find any level of success.

Make Money Online Myth #8: The only people who make money online are the ones selling "how to make money online" products to newbies.

This is something I hear all the time and it's ridiculous! I've built a successful online business and have been making money online since 2003, and I still don't sell my own "how to make money online" product. Your online business can be built in any niche you want. You don't have to get into the MMO niche if you don't want to. There's an unlimited supply of great niches out there for you to profit from.

Make Money Online Myth #9: I need a lot of advertising dollars or I won't find any customers.

Nope, that's absolutely not true! The internet is the perfect place for marketing your home business without needing a lot of money to do so. There are many very effective ways to market and advertise your business on the internet and most of them are either free or very cheap. I've had my online business since 2003 and I have never spent a large sum of money on any marketing or advertising method.

Make Money Online Myth #10: Getting top search engine rankings is impossible and I can't make money without them.

Wrong again! In highly competitive niches it is very difficult to achieve top search engine rankings, but it's not impossible. It can be done if you put in enough time and effort to get there but you don't need to because there are plenty of profitable niches out there that are fairly easy to get top search engine rankings for. All you have to do is find a good niche, build a website around it, get it ranked highly, earn money, rinse and repeat. It's not very difficult.

Alright, that's it. The top 10 make money online myths and the truth about them. Don't convince yourself, or let anyone else tell you that you can't build a successful online home business. You can do it if you really want to. It won't exactly be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. So get started right now so you can create financial freedom and a better future for you and your family.

7 Things Every Entrepreneur Should Do

You have your own home business and are entirely self-employed. You are the owner, manager, accountant and all the other employees bundled up into one body. You work harder than anyone you know yet it doesn't seem like you have a "real business" because you are at home all day. So how do you keep yourself in the right state of mind and knowing that you have a legitimate home internet business?

Here are seven things every home business entrepreneur should do to stay in the business state of mind and find more success:

1. Supply your office. Just because you run a home business doesn't mean you can't have a real office. Supply your office with the necessary equipment to run your business professionally. This could consist of things like a desk, a comfy chair, computer, fax machine, printer, copier, phone line, stationary, etc... All the things that businesses tend to have.

2. Get up early. You don't have to get up at 5am with the rest of the idiots who sit in traffic for two hours every day on the way to their jobs, but don't sleep all day either. Get up at a decent time and make it the same every day. This will keep you on a regular schedule to help get you going on each business day.

3. Wear nice clothes. Don't throw on sweatpants and a t-shirt after your morning shower. You should dress as if you had to go to an office. The better you dress the more professional you will feel. This is great for keeping you feeling like a real business person.

4. Go somewhere. Since you don't actually have to commute to work you can use that time to go to your local cafe for some breakfast. Use this time to plan your business day and get yourself in the right state of mind. Bring a notebook and planner to write down notes to self and get your to do list ready.

5. Get started. You look great, feel like a real business professional, and have a full stomach, so it's time to start your work day. Head back to your home office and get started on your list of business tasks to accomplish that day. It's best to do the most important things first so you can get them out of the way.

6. Find business friends. Just because you don't have coworkers or other business associates around you all day like regular businesses do doesn't mean you can't find a suitable replacement for them. Go find other entrepreneurs in your area to build relationships with. Have lunch meetings or brainstorming sessions with your "coworkers" a couple of times per week.

7. Speak business. When you are emailing or talking to clients, prospective clients, other business people, or anyone else that has anything to do with your business you should speak as if you were at a corporate office. Say things like, "I'll be at the office all day" or "My company deals with..." and other things that keep you sounding like a business professional instead of someone who just sits at home all day.

Ok, that's it. Now you have seven things you, as a home business entrepreneur, should do to keep a professional business image and get yourself in the right state of mind to do business each day. These simple tasks will work wonders for helping you to succeed in your home business.

Blogs Suck for Internet Marketing and Making Money Online

I know there are a lot of you who think that only blogs make money online or that only blogs rank well in the search engines or that you must be a blogger if you want to be a successful internet marketer. It's not entirely your fault for thinking this since most of the so-called top make money online bloggers do a very good job of feeding you this crap. However, it is absolutely NOT true and I can prove it! The fact is that bloggers suck at internet marketing and search engine optimization... Which is how you make money online!

Want to see what I am talking about? Keep reading...

The other day I was doing some searching on Google for various keyword phrases in the niches that typically fall under the "Internet Marketing" umbrella such as; work at home, make money online, home business, home based business and so on. After a few minutes of searching I started to realize that I wasn't finding very many blogs in the top ten of these popular searches.

So, I started looking a little closer at the search results and found that there really aren't very many blogs that rank in the top 10 on Google for any of the most popular internet marketing related keywords. The only exception was "make money online" (without quotes) but even the first page of search results for that term was only half full of blogs.

The results of my little experiment are below...

* Internet Marketing = 0 blogs in the top 10
* Make Money Online = 5 blogs in the top 10
* Home Business = 1 blog in the top 10
* Work at Home = 0 blogs in the top 10
* Home Based Business = 1 blog in the top 10

Total = 7 blogs out of the 50 websites listed at the top of Google for those keyword phrases.

The only one that even had a decent showing of blogs in the top 10 was Make Money Online. Now, you might be thinking that “make money online” is the most searched for keyword phrase of all of these so it's the one that you want to rank highly for with your blog anyway. Think again!

I checked each of the phrases in the Google Adwords keyword tool and the free Wordtracker keyword tool to see how many searches each of them receive. You can see what I found below. The first number is the monthly searches the keyword phrase gets according to the Google keyword tool and the second number is the daily searches it gets according to the free wordtracker tool.

* Internet Marketing = 1,000,000/month, 3412/day
* Make Money Online = 673,000/month, 956/day
* Home Business = 1,830,000/month, 1128/day
* Work at Home = 1,000,000/month, 1184/day
* Home Based Business = 673,000/month, 763/day

Now you can clearly see that of the five top keyword phrases in the internet marketing niche, make money online comes in right around the bottom. It was tied for last with home based business for monthly searches according to the Google tool and it was second to last in daily searches according to the Wordtracker tool. Home business and internet marketing were the top two respectively.

I admit this might not have been the most in-depth scientific experiment in the world but I don't think there's any doubt that it shows you definitely do not need a blog to rank well on Google or to make money online!

What do you need to rank highly in search engines and actually make money online?

Simple...

You need lots of keyword anchored backlinks. These are also called "inbound links" or "inlinks" depending on who you talk to, but they are all the same thing. Getting backlinks is the most important thing for ranking highly on the search engines and making money online.

Now hopefully you know that you don't need a blog that you update five times per day just for the sake of posting on it because you heard from some A-list blogger that's how to make money online. A very select few bloggers ever make it very far by following that school of thought for making money online, but plenty of website owners do very well with their sites by ranking highly on search engines. Which would you rather be?

Breaking the Deadly Cycle

When you work at home it's often very easy to get into a certain cycle that you repeat day after day. This can sometimes be a good thing but more often than not it's a cycle of getting nowhere with your home business. When you start doing the same tasks over and over again each day even though they aren't actually making you any money it can be a real business killer.

Sure there are some tasks you might do every day that don't directly make money for you but they are at least helping to build your online business. These are things like building up your link popularity by getting backlinks, writing fresh content for your blog, doing keyword research to create some niche sites, etc... But I'm not talking about those things.

What I am talking about are the things you spend hours per day doing that are doing nothing but wasting your time and will not help build your home business or make money for you now or in the long run. Some examples would be checking your email, checking your stats, checking your sales, hanging out in forums, reading a bunch of blogs, etc...

Think about how much time you spend each day just reading and checking everything. Visit a few of your favorite blogs and it doesn't take very long to lose an hour or two of your day. Check your email and stats a few times and there goes another hour. See what's going on in some of the popular forums and you just wasted another couple hours. That's about five hours right there and you haven't actually done any real work yet!

The problem with working at home online is that any time you are sitting at your computer doing anything it feels like you are working, when in reality you are probably not getting anything useful done. This is a cycle that so many internet marketers get themselves into and don't get out of it before their online business is dead and they end up working at their shitty jobs for the rest of their lives.

So how do you break this deadly cycle?

It's really not very hard if you think about it...

All you need to do is create a "to do list" of things to get done each day, create a schedule for getting it done, and stick with it! Designate a certain amount of time every day for each business or work task you need to get done and when your time is up move on to the next thing. Only you know how much time you have for work each day and what you should be getting done so I can't give you an exact plan, but you are smart enough to figure one out for yourself.

If you work at home full-time then you should be able to get a lot done and still have some extra time to spend doing things like reading home business blogs and internet marketing forums. If you have a full time job and only get a few hours per day to work on your home business then you really need to be careful where you are spending your time.

You can still read blogs, forums, email, etc... But have a set amount of time designated for it and don't spend too much time on it. Yes, it's important to keep up on business news and changes in the internet marketing industry as well as learn new ways to make money online, and everything else you can learn on blogs and forums. However, you need to make sure you don't waste all your time learning or you will never have any time to put the knowledge into action so you can actually build your home business and make money!

So get yourself out of the deadly cycle right now! Write down a specific amount of time to devote to each task you want to accomplish in your online business today and stick to your schedule.

Trent Brownrigg

Making Money On The Internet

Is it possible to make money from the internet? Sure it is, and there are people making money right at home using their internet. This article will give you some ideas on how to get you started in a successful business from your computer.

Research!

This is very important before joining an online business. People that are looking for a home business usually join the first business they see online. Once they get scammed by the first business, they think that all home business opportunities are like that, but they are not. You have to research a company before joining them. There are several things that you have to look into before joining an online business. These things that you should look into are researching the founder/CEO of the business, the products that the business has, and the compensation plan.

Let's Get Started!

After you have found a business that you want to join, its time to get started. I know it may seem like a big leap, but you will not make any money if you do not get started in a business. Yes, it is good to have dreams about having a business, but you have to follow through with your dreams!

Get A Mentor

This can really help you have success in your business. It is really important to find someone that has experience in an online business, and someone that you can trust. Your mentor will also help keep you focused and motivated in the hard times, which is a lot tougher doing it by yourself.

Don't Give Up!

This is very crucial when starting an online business. There are so many people that give up too soon. When they do not see money in a short period of time, they give up. What they forget to realize is that it takes time to build a successful business. In the meantime, you should definitely learn different marketing strategies that will help build your business to be successful. Just remember you are wanting to build a long term business.

Online Home Business Goals for 2008

Let me first start this post by wishing you all a very happy new year!

Since about the middle of December I have not been online very much at all with the holidays, vacations, and just flat out laziness (yes I can admit it). I apologize for the lack of posting but I am back now and will be regularly updating with free home business tips and online money making advice just like I always have.

What I want to talk about in this post is business goals for 2008. What I plan to accomplish with my business this year and also where you want to take your business.

In 2007 I focused mainly on creating info products and getting my existing home business sites more authority and higher search engine rankings. This year I plan to focus more on building new websites and niche blogs.

I have been reading a lot of Vic's posts over at Blogger Unleashed and Grizzly's posts at How to Make Money Online, and they have put a whole new perspective on where I want to take my online business.

Up until now I have mainly focused on topics such as; home based business, work at home, make money online and other similar niches. There's not necessarily anything wrong with that, I have built a very profitable online business that I am extremely proud of. However, these are some of the hardest niches to build a profitable online business in and they take a lot of hard work to get anywhere.

Thanks to all the great advice from Vic and Grizzly, this year I will be spending more time expanding into other niches that are much easier to profit in with a lot less work. Of course, I will continue in the make money online niche as I always have, but will not put all my effort towards it.

Doing this will take my online business to new heights. By focusing on smaller, easier, and more profitable niches, I should be able to at least double my profits from last year without working much more than I do now.

So, where do you want to take your online business this year? Have you thought about it? If not, it's time to sit down and figure out what you want to accomplish in 2008.

Get started on it right now! This is very important to your online business success. Running into the new year without a plan or any specific goals will only leave you disappointed next December when you realize your home business didn't grow and your profits are slim.

Here's to a profitable year for all of you in 2008!

3 Idiot Proof Home Business Success Tips

Starting a home business and turning it into a long-term profitable business venture is the dream of millions of people. Many pursue that dream and succeed; others fail and give up, but most never even try.

Remember you can't build a successful home business if you never even try and you certainly aren't going to get far if you can't get up from your failures. You are in control of your own destiny. You have the freedom to choose success, failure, or just keep cruising through life on your safe wagon never going up or down.

Below I have given you three idiot proof home business success tips. They are the basis for creating any long-term profitable business. If you follow and stick with them, you won't fail.

Idiot Proof Tip #1 - Promote high converting products with large profit margins.

It's very hard to make a living if you are only selling products that make you a few dollars profit per sale. If you want to build a profitable home business you should be promoting products that make you at least $25.00 profit per sale. Remember, that this is what you need to make in profit so you must factor in your expenses and make at least that much extra per sale.

Idiot Proof Tip #2 - Take the time to create high converting marketing material.

You can have the best home business in the world but if your sales material does not bring in any visitors and then convert them into paying customers, you will not make money. Marketing is the life of your home business so this is very important!

Your advertisements, salesletters, promotional emails, affiliate marketing material, articles, etc... All need to work for you and bring in results. If you are not good at writing good sales copy then hire someone to do it for you or take the time to learn how to do it yourself.

Idiot Proof Tip #3 - Automate your home business as much as possible.

If you want to actually have any time to enjoy yourself then you will need to automate your home business as much as possible. Not to mention the fact that this will help tremendously in increasing your profits and free up time for other business tasks that actually help you to make money.

Autoresponders, outsourcing, and PLR are three great ways to save you a ton of time and increase your income potential. By automating your business and using pre-existing resources available, you can concentrate on the part of your home business you really enjoy... Making Money!

Follow these three home business tips like your life depends on it and you will have a successful home business. But before you can even begin to follow these tips you first have to take action and get starting on making your dreams come true. Stop sitting there waiting for the right time because that time is now!

10 Internet Marketing Principles for Your Home Business

Free Home Business Tips
Below I have listed ten principles of internet marketing that you can use to build a successful home business online. They are not in any order of importance but all are very important!

1) Give your website visitors lots of quality information. Give them content that they will learn from and that they can actually use. They key here is to provide exceptional quality without charging for it. Writing in-depth articles and lessons for them based on topics in your home business niche are great ways to do this. Internet marketing success is largely about freely giving and helping others.

2) Stick to the theme of your home business website. For example, if your website is about making money online then you should only provide information and resources about that and similar topics. These can be topics such as; home based business, work at home, business opportunities, home jobs, online business, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, niche marketing, blogging, etc...

As you can see they all have a similar theme related to making money online. People coming to a site like this don't want to read about car racing or fantasy football or anything else completely unrelated. You will lose business fast if you don't have a noticeable theme to your site and stick to it. This is one of the main internet marketing principles.

3) Build your list. One of the things you will hear very often in the internet marketing world is, "the money is in the list" and it's true. Building a list is one significant part of building a successful home business. One great way to build your list is to offer a free ebook, an e-course, a newsletter or something else valuable to your visitors in exchange for their email address.

Another powerful way to multiply your subscriber list is to form joint ventures with other internet marketers, swap ads with each other telling your subscribers to join their list and vice versa. Most internet marketers know the huge benefits of doing this and many are willing to agree.

One important point to remember about building a list is that it's not necessarily the size of the list that matters; it's how responsive they are. You need to form a great relationship with your subscribers. Send them valuable information and resources on a set schedule and put your personality into the emails. Give lots of value and keep giving it unconditionally. Your goal is to have them begging for your emails! Then you will reap the rewards.

4) Give freebies. As I stated above, success with internet marketing has a lot to do with how much you give freely. One great way to create a buzz about your home business and establish yourself as a well-known and respect member of the internet marketing community is to create ebooks and give them away for free.

Write an ebook that is loaded with quality, useful information, tons of tips, and valuable resources. Make it valuable enough that you could sell it for a great profit, but give it away for free instead. Doing this will sky-rocket your profits more than you can ever imagine when it comes time for you to actually sell a product.

5) Create a plan. Have you ever heard that if you fail to plan then you plan to fail? This is very true when trying to build a successful home business. You must know where you want to go and how you are going to get there. There are many internet marketers who are more than willing to help you plan your home business, whether it's in the form of a product they have created or by actually helping you personally. Take what you learn, adapt it to your needs, and create a home business plan for yourself.

6) Start a blog. Home business blogs (like the one you are reading) are a great way to quickly and easily publish content to your website. Search engines love them because they are updated frequently and so do people. Plus, internet marketers typically link to blogs much more often than they do regular websites so it's easier to get inbound links, high search engine rankings, and more traffic. And there are several blogging communities, such as MyBlogLog that you can become a part of to connect with other bloggers and increase the readership of your blog.

7) Get affiliates. When you create products or services be sure to add an affiliate program for them and get as many affiliates as possible marketing for you. Top internet marketers know that it is much easier to build a successful home business when you have an army of affiliates promoting your products and making money for you.

There is only so much you can do yourself and having hundreds of affiliates helping you out is an incredible way to leverage the work of others for mutual benefit. Offer them at least 50% commissions on each sale. I recommend even higher. The more you pay the more affiliates you will get. Even after paying them such a high commission you'll still make a lot more money then you would without affiliates selling for you.

8) Make friends. Forming relationships with other internet marketers is one of the most vital parts of building a home business. Networking is a key factor of success. The more online business friends you make, the better your chances for finding JV partners, affiliates, and getting your name known to the world. Once you build up a nice entourage your business will hit new heights and it will be much easier to launch any of your new projects.

Plus, having internet marketing friends will make your "job" more satisfying. Running an online business can be very lonely since you don't have any co-workers or anyone else around all day to chat with. Having online friends at least allows you to have a little conversation on a daily basis. Admittedly, it is through a computer screen but it's better than nothing.

9) Get your visitors involved. Allowing your website visitors to get involved is a great way to bring back repeat visitors, build relationships, and also increase your sites content without writing it yourself. Some of the best ways to do this are by adding forums or message boards, allowing blog comments, surveys, and accepting article submissions. Getting them involved may also give you valuable feedback to help you improve your business.

10) Market/Advertise/Promote. Although these are technically three different things, they are closely related and often referred to collectively, so I am putting them here together under "marketing." There are hundreds of ways to market your business and yourself on the internet. Some of the more popular methods include: Article marketing, advertising on other websites, PPC, buying text links, forums, link exchanges, SEO, ezines, blog reviews, online classifieds, etc... and there are tons more.

Each of those marketing methods would take their own article to explain in-depth, so I am not going to do that here. If you need more information on any of them, you can find many internet marketing articles and blog posts on this website talking about each of them. Or just do a search on Google.

Alright, there you have it! If you apply each of these ten internet marketing principles to your home business on a regular and consistent basis, you will soon find yourself very successful!

Ok that's it for today's home business tips.

Sell Your Brain to Make Money

Yep, that's right, I said it... Make Money Online by Selling Your Brain!

Ok, I don't mean actually pulling your brain out and selling it. You probably wouldn't make it far if you did that. What I mean is that you have a ton of knowledge sitting inside your brain, and there are all sorts of ways to make money online from that information.

Starting, growing, and succeeding in an online home business is largely about selling information. Think about it - what do ebooks, articles, content websites, blogs, forums, etc... all have in common? They are all created with information and all can be great ways to make money online in one way or another.

Let's look at a few ways to start a home business and make money online by selling your brain:

* Blogging - This is one of the fastest and easiest ways to get your knowledge out to the world and make money from it. You can create a blog in just minutes and start posting information. The beauty of blogs is that they can be updated very quickly and often. So when you have knowledge to share, you can easily post it.

Of course, you will want to take the time to select a good topic for your blog and stick to blogging about related topics. Some people get away with posting miscellaneous ramblings on their blog and still earn a nice profit from it, but they are few and far between. For instance, the theme of this blog is "home business" so I only post about related topics such as; make money online, work at home, online business, internet marketing, and similar niches that fall under home business. Every once in a while I stray away on an off-topic post but not often.

You also need to figure out how you will make money from your blog. Some of the most popular are Google Adsense, advertising, affiliate marketing, and paid reviews.

* Websites - Building a website full of well-written original content is another great way to sell your knowledge. Similar to a blog, you will build a site around a certain theme and give the world the information they are looking for on that subject. Content websites and blogs are often interchangeable. People use blogging software to build content websites all the time.

However, for the most part, blogs and websites do tend to differ in a few ways. One of the most common is that the content on a website is usually longer and more in-depth. You can make money from a home business website in many ways but some of the most common ways are pretty much the same as with blogs - affiliate programs, Adsense, and advertising. You simply sprinkle these in with your content and make money from them.

* Ebooks - Now this is definitely one of the best ways to make money selling your brain! An ebook is one of the ultimate information resources for someone trying to learn about a certain subject. If you have a lot of knowledge about a topic (and trust me you do) then writing and selling an ebook can make you a lot of money.

If you are looking to start your own home business or already have one and want to take it to the next level, then writing an ebook may very well be a wise choice for you. With some research and a little work you could have an ebook written, sales copy finished, and sales website online in as soon as a week.

* Articles - You can sell your knowledge in the form of articles and make money online a few different ways. One way is to simply write and sell the articles. You can sell them to websites that buy articles like Associated Content, or you can sell them to people looking for PLR articles they can use as their own. There are tons of people looking to buy articles. You can also make money from articles by using them to create more websites and blogs, or combining them to create ebooks.

* Forums - I don't think a lot of people realize how great forums really can be for making money online. First of all, simply by becoming a very helpful and respected member of a forum you will gain a following and people will start to trust you. They will visit your websites more and automatically take a look at products you recommend.

Or you can start your own home business forum and monetize it a number of different ways. As with above, you will first need to be very helpful to your members and show them how knowledgeable you are on the subjects of the forum. Then, you can make recommendations to members on products or services you are an affiliate of. You can put Adsense or affiliate links below posts. You can allow members to post special offers and charge a small fee to post them. You can have a special section of the forum that is only accessible to paid members, etc... There are many ways to make money from an online forum.

There you have it, five ways you can build a home business and make money online by selling your brain!

Six Reasons Why Having a Website is Critical to Your Business

Even in this day and age where the internet is as much a part of most of our lives as anything else, there are many business owners who don't realize the importance of having a website for their business.

So, "Why is having a website so critical?" You might ask.

Here are six good reasons to have a business website:

1) A business website builds your credibility.

Your website has a large impact on how a potential customer sees you. A professional design, well written text, helpful product/service information, contact information, and other resources on your site can dramatically increase the trust people have in your company. It lets them know you are real, helpful, knowledgeable, and up with the times. If you put in the effort to develop a quality website for your business, you will have already started a relationship with your visitors.

2) A website keeps your business open 24/7 worldwide.

There are more than a billion people online around the world. Many of them are no doubt looking for what you offer in your business. By having a website, you open your business up to the whole world and an incredible amount of people who would never find you otherwise. With the click of a mouse, customers can get to your businesses website from almost anywhere at any time.

3) Websites are very powerful sales tools.

Selling your products on a website can be an amazing way to expand your business. You have an easily accessible storefront that costs virtually nothing compared to a brick and mortar store and can reach millions more people. A good sales letter can work wonders in hooking visitors on your product/service and making them buy.

Even if you can't actually sell your services directly online, a website is still a very powerful asset to your business. It can be the first step in convincing visitors of why they need your products/services. It gets them prepared to buy, and then they can contact you via your site to actually make the purchase.

4) A website makes word of mouth referrals easy to do.

Referrals are one of the best sources for new customers. Having a website makes it easy for your customers to refer other people because they can simply send friends and business associates to your website. Website addresses are usually easier to remember than phone numbers and people are more likely to check out your site than they are to call you.

5) Websites increase the value of your advertising.

Putting your website address on all of your advertisements, business cards, and company literature is a simple, yet effective, way to draw potential customers in. Visiting a website is much easier than writing, visiting an offline business, or even calling. Customers get the information they need and don't have to wait for a real person to help them. Also, it's usually more comfortable to visit a website because there is nobody around to make them feel pressured.

6) Keep in contact with customers and potential customers.

There will frequently be people who are interested in what you have to offer, but for whatever reason they are not be ready to buy right now. If you stay in contact with them they will immediately think of you when they are ready. You can put a form on your website to collect names and email addresses from visitors. Then you can periodically send out a newsletter or other promotions via email. You can also do this with people who have already purchased from you to help encourage repeat customers.

Now you have six reasons why a website is beneficial to your business and why you should build one. There are even more reasons but those six should be more than enough to convince you to get a website and grow your business exponentially!
