Are You Making Money or Wasting Your Time?

There are thousands of so-called "internet marketers" who are sitting at their computers right now trying to make money online. However, most of them are not making any money, or if they are making money, it's not nearly as much as they would like.

So, why is it that so many internet marketers are not making money? It's because they are wasting their time! There are countless ways you can waste your time when you are online. Even though you might think you are working, you aren't.

One way you might be wasting your time is by thinking that you are getting stuff done when you actually aren't doing anything productive at all. How many times a day do you check your email? How many times a day to you visit internet marketing forums and end up spending 30 minutes reading posts? How much time each day do you waste reading post after post on all your favorite make money online blogs? How much time do you waste each day just surfing the internet? I could go on and on but I think you get my drift. Just because you are online it doesn't mean you are working!

But that is not the biggest way people who consider themselves to be "internet marketers" waste their time. Most of them waste it by doing things that actually are building their online business but are not going to help them make money. One example of that is blogging. Yeah now I got your attention! You are probably wondering why the hell I would say that blogging is a waste of time and will not make you any money?

Let me explain...

In order to make money online, you need traffic to your blog. There is no way to get around this fact. However, when you are blogging away all day long every day you are forgetting to do one very important thing... Market your blog! As an "internet marketer" the most important part of your job is to market.

You might have the best blog in the world with more original content than all ten of the top blogs in your niche, but that means nothing if you don't get any visitors. You could have a blog that contains the #1 absolute best secret that everyone in the world needs to know, but if nobody knows about your blog they will never read it. Do you see what I mean? Unless people coming to your blog, you won't make money!

But not just any traffic will do either. You don't want untargeted traffic. You don't want Web 2.0 traffic. You don't want other internet marketers and bloggers as your main source of traffic. Why? Because none of these people will click your ads, buy from your affiliate links, or even notice any of the things you have on your blog that will make you money.

What you need is search engine traffic. The visitors you get to your blog from search engines are targeted, they are actively searching for your blog, and they don't have a clue what Adsense is or what affiliate links are. And if you have done your research and are in the right niche, they are ready to spend money. You will make money from these visitors!

Stop wasting every day posting a hundred times to your blog just hoping someone will come read it. Or wasting even more of your time on digg, furl, myspace, delicious, or any of the other social bookmarking and social networking sites that will only bring you the kind of traffic that won't make you any money.

Instead, spend more of your day getting inbound links and working on other search engine optimization techniques. Use as much time as you can each day getting your blog ranked at the top of the search engines and getting more of the kind of traffic you are looking for to make money online.

Doing this one simple thing will greatly increase your chances of making money online and becoming a full-time internet marketer to live the life you have always wanted. So stop wasting your time and start making money!

Stop the Money Making Hype - Get the Facts!

In keeping with the theme of my last post, I wanted to expand a little more on this topic and give you some ways to help protect yourself from money making lies...

We see them all the time; sales pages that simply blow our minds with amazing promises of insane amounts of money. I saw one just the other day that started out something like this:

“Earn $8,500+ Every Day!”

“No Website, No Selling, No Recruiting, You Can't Fail”

And then it went on and on about how this was a money making system where you don't even have to work. They will do all the work for you and all you have to do is sit at home and collect your money.

Do you actually believe this is true?

If you don’t, good for you! If you do believe this crap, I am extremely disappointed. I truly hope you never believe something like that.

The sad part is that crap like this gets sold to us each and every day. The sales pages are loaded with blatant lies and outrageous promises. And the reason that these sites get away with this crap is because there are always new people coming into the work at home marketplace and falling for it.

You don't have to fall victim to this work at home hype because there is a simple solution to this problem... Instead of believing everything you read, take it upon yourself to get the facts. If they won't give you the facts then you know that the person has something to hide.

While this might sound easier said than done, it really isn't. You just need to have the nerve to approach the site owners and ask them some questions about their money making product. What kind of questions should you ask? Here are a few to get you started:

Question #1 - What exactly do I have to do to make money?

This is probably one of the toughest questions to get answered. One reason for that is the owners only make money if you buy into their program so they don't want to give anything away before you buy. But if they have a legitimate and honest online business they will be happy to answer that for you.

Another reason is because in order for you to make money in many programs, you have to recruit people into the program itself. Also, you might actually have to pay to upgrade before you even qualify to earn. Many money making programs don’t pay their free members. So, while they say you can join for free, what they don’t tell you is that in order to earn you must become a paid member.

Question #2 - Are there any additional costs?

This is related to the above problem with having to be a paid member in order to make money. Some programs also require you to buy “product” before you qualify to earn. So it's your job to find out if there are any additional costs before you join the program.

Question #3 - Can I see proof of income?

Another thing you want to do is ask for proof of their earnings with this system, not money that they made just because they sold it. You will very often find people showing you huge amounts of money that they made. But if you dig deeper you will find it’s not because of the system itself, it’s all the money they made by selling the system. For all you know the system could be worthless.

Question #4 - Are the testimonials real?

If there are any testimonials on the site they will usually post a link to the person’s site who gave the testimonial. Visit their sites and contact them to ask if their testimonials are real and if they still recommend the product. They have nothing to lose by giving you their honest opinion so this is a great way to get a true outside perspective on the product.

The bottom line is this... Don’t blindly jump into any money making program. You have the right to ask questions and get all the answers that you need before you put your time, effort, and money into a work at home opportunity. If they don't provide you with the answers you need or you simply don’t like the answers you’ve been given, then stay away from that program and find another one.

There are plenty of legitimate online opportunities so don't settle for anything you are unsure of.

Forget the money making hype… Get the facts!
